About the WHOIS Lookup Tool
The WHOIS Lookup tool queries the modern RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) system to return authoritative registration information for any domain — registrar, creation date, expiry date, last-updated timestamp, current status codes, nameservers and (where public) registrant contact details. RDAP is the JSON-based successor to the classic port-43 WHOIS protocol and is what every major registry now serves, so results are structured, consistent and internationally normalized.
