What DNS Blade is
DNS Blade is a free web toolkit for developers, sysadmins and technically-curious people who need fast, honest DNS and network diagnostics. Every tool runs entirely on Cloudflare's edge — queries are served from the location closest to you, usually in under 100 ms.
What we don't do
- We don't run ads on any tool.
- We don't require an account for anything.
- We don't sell or share your queries — everything sensitive stays in your browser.
- We don't gate features behind a paid tier. The whole toolkit is free.
How queries are handled
DNS lookups, WHOIS and IP queries run server-side on Cloudflare Workers so we can hit dozens of resolvers in parallel. Anything that can run in the browser — hashing, JWT decoding, QR generation, password strength checks — does. When we do check a password against Have I Been Pwned, only the first five characters of the SHA-1 hash ever leave your device (k-anonymity), so we can never see your password.
Who's behind it
DNS Blade is built and maintained by a small team of engineers who got tired of ad-clogged, signup-walled tool sites. If you find a bug or want a tool, the changelog tracks everything we ship.
