The Sitemap Generator builds a valid `sitemap.xml` file that lists the URLs you want search engines to crawl, with optional `<lastmod>`, `<changefreq>` and `<priority>` values per URL. Sitemaps help search engines discover your pages faster and understand your site's structure — especially for large sites, JavaScript-heavy sites, or sites with pages that aren't well-linked from the main navigation.
Every site should have a sitemap. It doesn't guarantee indexing but it makes discovery deterministic — Google's crawler picks up your sitemap on every visit and knows immediately which pages exist and when they last changed. For sites with dynamic content (products, blog posts, listings) you'll want to regenerate the sitemap automatically whenever content changes, not just once.
Submit your sitemap in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, and reference it in your robots.txt (`Sitemap: https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml`). If your sitemap grows beyond 50,000 URLs or 50MB uncompressed, split it into multiple sitemaps and use a sitemap index file.
